About Resource Network Northeast Ltd.

Resource Network Northeast Ltd. has been established to provide a proactive and practical means of stimulating waste-derived material supply chains in the North East. In addition, it will provide a business and community waste sector information portal and training opportunities.

ResNET replaces the former Community Waste Network North East (CWNNE) which was established to support community action on waste and to influence policy. ResNET is also about supporting community action on waste, and seeing waste as a resource rather than a problem, providing support to local community groups involved in waste and recycling.

Research and consultation in the region has shown that local community groups involved in waste and recycling feel the need for more information and support to help them carry out their work. ResNET can now meet this demand. We aim to empower groups and individuals and to influence policy.

ResNET will deliver 4 key areas of work:

  1. Raising awareness by providing CIWM Waste Awareness training and events
  2. Providing a brokerage medium via the website for waste to benefit local community groups and businesses
  3. Providing support and information (including disseminating good practice) via the ResNET website
  4. Working in partnership and influencing policy locally regionally and nationally
